Why natural fibers?

One of Linen Way’s important goals is to raise consumer awareness and educate our customers. Contemporary textile markets offer a wide range of products, so sometimes it’s hard to make a decision. You make your choice based on the fabric, end use, and care of your textile products nearly every day. By making an informed decision regarding even a small purchase, you as a consumer have the power to affect the direction of the market and the future of our planet.

The products made from natural fibers are the most eco-green alternative on the market. The reason for this is the source - nature itself! The main source for synthetic fibers like polyester, acrylic, and nylon is petrochemicals. Petrochemicals are chemical products made from raw materials of petroleum or hydrocarbons. In simple terms the base material for synthetics is oil. Most synthetic fabrics are not biodegradable, so this means that unless it is properly recycled and utilized it will remain in your local landfill forever. The processes needed for synthetic, man-made fiber production are very polluting and one of the factors that contribute to global warming. On the contrary, natural fibers are completely biodegradable and unlike oil they are a renewable resource. Increased use of natural fibers such as linen, alpaca, wool, cashmere, and silk means reduced dependency on oil consumption. The use of natural fibers supports the ecosystem of our planet. Plants are food and shelter for animals and insects and produce oxygen for mankind. Natural fibers have unique properties that cannot be substituted by the man made synthetic fibers.

So if you are looking for quality, durability and environmentally friendly products, welcome to Linen Way!
